Ocular Disease: Ptosis

What is ptosis?

Ptosis is a drooping of one or both upper eyelids. The lid may extend downward slightly or may cover the pupil entirely, restricting or even blocking normal vision. This condition may occur in both children an adults.

Adults may also be affected by ptosis. Often it occurs due to aging, following cataract surgery or injury to the eye.
